Zero Data Collection Architecture
Velo is built on a strict privacy-first foundation. All text parsing, RSVP speed-reading, and calculations execute 100% locally on your computer. We do not collect your personal data, we do not log your browsing history, and we never transmit the content of articles you read to external servers.
1. Data We Do NOT Collect
In compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies:
- No Personally Identifiable Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
- No Web Browsing History: We do not log URLs, page titles, or timestamps of websites you visit.
- No Website Content: Selected text or extracted article passages are held only ephemerally in browser RAM while the RSVP reader is active. It is completely discarded upon closing the reader.
- No Keystroke or Mouse Tracking: Playback shortcuts (such as Space, Esc, Alt+R, Alt+P) are processed purely within the client tab.
2. Data Stored Locally (Your Device Only)
Velo uses the Chrome storage API (specifically chrome.storage.local) solely to remember your personal reading preferences:

4. Payments & Billing Information
Payments for Velo PRO ($19.99/year) are processed exclusively by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. Paddle handles all checkout operations in a PCI-DSS compliant environment. We never receive or store your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment credentials.
5. Limited Use & Third-Party Sharing
We strictly adhere to Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements:
- We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to data brokers or third parties.
- We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising or creditworthiness assessment.
- We do not utilize any remote code, external CDN scripts, or tracking telemetry SDKs.
